Rajasthan Royals’ Jethalal Post Breaks The Internet As RCB Women’s Team Wins WPL 2024
The Women’s team of Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged victorious in the WPL 2024 title on Sunday, giving them their first taste of success in franchise cricket. RCB’s victory against the Delhi Capitals saw Mandhana’s women’s team register its name in the history books while the men’s team continues to be without a title in 16 years of its IPL participation. Rajasthan Royals unleashed a meme that lit up the internet as fans congratulated RCB on their victory on social media.
In their post, Rajasthan Royals drew parallels between the RCB women’s team’s title triumph and that of a scene from the famous comedy TV show, “Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma”. The Royals appear to have made a subtle dig at the men’s side of the RCB with the post.
Rajasthan weren’t the only ones to see the funny side of RCB’s women’s team lifting the title before the men’s. Several other social media users tried to troll the the Bengaluru franchise on the same subject.
As for the match, an all-round performance which was led by a solid knock by Ellyse Perry and brilliant bowling spells from spinners Shreyanka Patil and Sophie Molineux powered RCB to their first-ever WPL with an eight-wicket triumph in the title clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The young and talented players of India emerged victorious in crucial matches when their teams required them the most. Arundhati Reddy, Minnu Mani, Shubha Satheesh and Vrinda Dinesh would be some of the examples of the local talent that was unearthed during the enthralling competition.
