Will LSG invest 50 crores on Rohit Sharma? Sanjiv Goenka made a big statement
- Rohit replaced Hardik as MI captain
- There were speculations that Rohit would leave Mumbai Indians
- After this there were rumours that LSG would invest Rs 50 crore to buy Rohit
Before the last IPL season, Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy of Mumbai Indians and Hardik Pandya was made the new captain of the team. Fans were very angry at this decision of the franchise. After this, speculations started on social media that Rohit might leave Mumbai Indians this time. After this, some rumors surfaced that Lucknow Super Giants had kept a budget of up to Rs 50 crore to buy Rohit Sharma in the mega auction. Now a big statement of LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka has come out regarding this.
Will LSG spend Rs 50 crore for Rohit?
Sanjiv Goenka believes that any team will benefit from a player like Rohit Sharma, but it is not justified to spend such a huge amount on him. During an interview, Sanjiv Goenka said, “Does anyone know whether Rohit Sharma is participating in the auction or not? It depends on whether Mumbai Indians will drop Rohit or not. However, if Rohit participates in the auction and if you spend 50 percent of the purse on him, then how can you buy other players. Everyone wants a good player and captain. It depends on what you have and what you can do with it.”
LSG guides Zaheer Khan
Before IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants has appointed former Indian veteran fast bowler Zaheer Khan as the new mentor of the team. Earlier Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of LSG but last season Gambhir joined his old team Kolkata Knight Riders. Now Zaheer Khan will be seen in this new role.
