These 5 Australian players will be released before the mega auction of IPL 2025

BCCI has issued retention rules and other guidelines regarding IPL 2025. At present all the teams are busy in selecting their retained and released players. BCCI has not set any maximum limit for retaining foreign players. However, despite this rule, IPL 2025 may see some major changes. IPL teams can retain a maximum of 5 capped players during this period.
During IPL 2024, a large number of Australian players were seen playing for different teams. Mitchell Starc was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for the highest price of Rs 24.75 crore in the 2024 auction. Also, many Australian players have not performed well during this period, which may lead to their release before the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Ashton Turner (Lucknow Super Giants)
Ashton Turner, who was a part of Lucknow Super Giants, got to play only 2 matches in IPL 2024. During this period he could score only 21 runs. Due to the limit of retaining maximum 5 players in IPL 2025, the franchise may release Turner.
Matthew Wade (Gujarat Titans)
Wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade looked in form in IPL 2022 and played 10 matches for Gujarat Giants. However, in the last 2024 season, he got to play only 2 matches, in which Wade scored only 4 runs. After not giving him much chance in the last season, now the franchise can release Wade.
Glenn Maxwell (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Glenn Maxwell's performance during IPL 2024 has been quite shameful. He could score only 52 runs in 10 matches. In such a situation, Royal Challengers Bangalore would obviously not want to make the mistake of retaining Maxwell. In place of Maxwell, there are many other good players in the team who can be included in the retention list.
Mitchell Starc (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player in IPL history, was seen playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, the winners of the 2024 edition. Starc took 17 wickets in 14 matches during this period. In such a situation, there is doubt whether Starc will be available for the entire next season, which is often seen with him. Because of this, perhaps KKR can release Starc for a short period of time instead of spending crores of rupees.
David Warner (Delhi Capitals)
In IPL 2024, David Warner played a total of 8 matches for Delhi Capitals and scored 168 runs. Due to the presence of other big players in the team, Warner did not get many opportunities. The team also includes players like his compatriots Jack-Fraser McGurk and Mitchell Marsh. In such a situation, Delhi Capitals can release Warner.
