- Three rules will be applicable in the Qualifier-2 match to be held in Chennai
- Whichever team wins Qualifier-2 will face KKR in the final
Qualifier-2 match will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on Friday at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium. Rajasthan Royals team has recently made it to Qualifier-2 by defeating RCB. Whereas Hyderabad team has reached here after losing Qualifier-1 against KKR. They have got another chance to make it to the final. Now whichever team wins this match between Rajasthan and Hyderabad will face KKR in the final. Three rules will be applicable in the Qualifier-2 match to be held in Chennai. Let's know what those rules are.
120 minutes extra time will be available
If the match gets delayed due to any reason in Qualifier-2, then 60 minutes of extra time will be given. That is, an attempt will be made to complete the match by giving one hour of extra time. In playoff matches like qualifiers, this time is given up to 120 minutes. That is, in any case, 2 hours extra will be given to complete the match. This can happen in case of rain or any other situation. For a match, first 60 minutes and then 120 minutes of extra time can be given.
Time out times can be used
Now if the match is not completed even within this time, then the time given for 'time out' can be used. Along with this, if needed, the time for changing the innings can also be reduced. The timeout period is two and a half minutes. There is a provision to give two time outs to each team. In this way, five minutes of extra time can also be obtained. If the match between the two teams is tied, then the decision will be made by a super over. The time of 10 minutes for the super over will not change.
If the match of 5-5 overs is not played then this team will be the winner
If the match is affected by rain, then the possibility of completing it will be considered at all costs. Otherwise, the option of conducting a match of 5-5 overs can also be considered. There is a provision of reserve day in IPL playoff matches. If the match is not completed under any circumstances, then the entire equation will change and the team which is at the top of the points table will be declared the winner. That is, if the match is not completed, Sunrisers can be the winner.
