The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans has been canceled due to rain. Due to continuous rain, the ground was covered with covers all around, due to which the match officials abandoned the match. The match between Hyderabad and Gujarat was to be played at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad, but the toss could not be held due to heavy rain. The rain did not stop and finally at 10:30 pm it was decided for the last time that if the rain stops then both the teams will play a match of five overs each. But the weather was in no mood to save the cricket fans who had come to watch the match at Uppal Stadium. Finally at 10:30 the match was officially cancelled.
Delhi and Lucknow out of playoff
The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans was abandoned due to rain, resulting in defeat for the other two teams. Talking about the playoffs, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants were stuck in confusion. DC currently has 14 points and LSG can also get 14 points by winning their last match in the league stage. But due to the cancellation of the match against Gujarat, SRH have got one point and their total points have become 15. With Delhi and Lucknow failing to reach 15 points, Hyderabad has now become the third team to enter the IPL 2024 playoffs. Before them, KKR (19) and Rajasthan Royals (16) have already confirmed their place in the top-4.
Disco like experience at Uppal Stadium
Due to rain, match officials started reducing the number of overs. Seeing the chances of the match starting diminishing, many fans started leaving the field. Meanwhile, a light show was organized at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad to entertain the crowd. It was dark in the ground, but the light show was giving the ground the feel of a disco bar. The people present in the ground doubled the fun of this moment by lighting the flash lights of their mobile phones.
