SRH vs GT: Heavy rain in Hyderabad, who will benefit if the match is cancelled?
- Indian Premier League is now in its last phase
- Today there will be a clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.
- If the match is canceled due to rain then the equation of playoff will change.
The Indian Premier League is now in its last stages. 65 out of 74 matches of the league have been played, the 66th match will be held on Thursday between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. There is a possibility of rain during this match to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. In such a situation, if the match is canceled due to rain then the equation of playoff will become very interesting. Let's find out how…
Sunrisers may benefit
Gujarat Titans have nothing to lose. They are already out of the playoff race, but this match is very important for Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH is fourth in the points table with 14 points. If the match is abandoned due to rain, one point each will be shared between SRH and GT. This will give Sunrisers an advantage of 15 points with an advantage of one point. After this, it will replace CSK and reach the third position. CSK currently has 14 points.
RCB will suffer loss
If the match is canceled due to rain, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be worried as they have the advantage to defeat Sunrisers. RCB will be more worried as they have just 12 points after 13 matches. If RCB wants to qualify for the playoffs, they will have to defeat CSK in the match to be held on May 18.
RCB will benefit if CSK and SRH lose both the matches
To reach the playoffs, CSK will also have to win this match. However, both CSK and RCB will have to hope that Sunrisers lose both their matches. If this happens and RCB wins the next match then both the teams (CSK, RCB) can qualify for the playoffs.
