Why so much ruckus about DRS?

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma was bowling the fourth over of the innings for Delhi. Devdutt Padikkal was batting against him, when a ball from Ishant went near Devdutt's leg pad, which was declared wide by the umpire. After which DRS was taken from Delhi side on this ball that this ball is not wide and the field umpire sent the decision to the third umpire but Pant was seen talking to the field umpire for a long time.

Pant believed that he had not taken any DRS, while the umpire was seen saying that no, you have indicated for DRS. The replay of which revealed that Pant had indicated for DRS, due to which Delhi had to lose DRS.
