I have had a great time here, whether it was my early days as a player or a few years spent as head coach in Mumbai. And then I spent seven seasons in Delhi, which unfortunately did not work out, I think there was an attempt to bring something good to my move to the team and it did not happen.
DC's first choice is Indian coach
“Delhi Capitals have made it clear they want to go in a different direction with someone who can give him a bit more time during the off-season to develop his skills in India,” Ponting said. “I think they will probably go with an Indian coach.”
Ponting thanked DC for the opportunity to work with the franchise and so many great players. He wished them all the best for the future and said he is available to coach an IPL team in the future. “I wish them all the best, but as I said there may be some opportunities for me in the next few months and I would love to coach in the IPL again next season,” Ponting said.
