RCB vs DC IPL 2023: Bangalore team returned to winning track in a bang, Delhi Capitals’ fifth consecutive defeat
In a match held on Saturday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 23 runs in the IPL 2023 season. Despite losing the toss, RCB managed to set a target of 175 runs, which Delhi could only chase down to 151 runs after losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. RCB ended their two-match losing streak with this victory, while Delhi faced their fifth consecutive defeat and remained at the bottom of the points table with no wins so far.
Delhi’s chase got off to a poor start with opener Prithvi Shaw getting run out for 0 in the first over, followed by Mitchell Marsh who also failed to score. Yash Dhull contributed only one run to the total, and captain David Warner scored 19 runs off 13 balls before getting dismissed. Abhishek Porel could not make an impact and scored only 5 runs, leading to Delhi losing five wickets on a total score of 53. However, Manish Pandey held the innings together for a long time, scoring 50 runs off 38 balls before getting out as the seventh player. Akshar Patel and Aman Khan scored 21 and 18 runs respectively, but they couldn’t play significant innings. Lalit Yadav could only manage 4 runs, while Enrique Norkhia scored an unbeaten 23 off 14 balls, and Kuldeep Yadav remained unbeaten on 7 runs off 6 balls. Vaishakh, the debutant for RCB, took three wickets, while Mohammad Siraj claimed two wickets.
In the IPL 2023 match between RCB and DC, RCB set a target of 175 runs after scoring 174 runs while losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Vikat Kohli played a crucial role in the innings by scoring 50 runs off 34 balls, while Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, and captain Faf Duplessis contributed important scores of 26, 24, and 22 respectively. Harshal Patel managed to score only 6 runs, and Dinesh Karthik got out without opening the account. Shahbaz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 20 runs, while Anuj Rawat scored 15 not out, sharing an unbroken 42-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets each for Delhi, while Akshar Patel and Lalit Yadav claimed one wicket each.
