Players who make this mistake in IPL may face strict ban.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the retention rules. After which now all the teams will be able to retain 6-6 players. Apart from this, BCCI has also taken many big decisions regarding IPL 2025. One of which is the Impact Player rule which will remain in place even after being disputed. Apart from this, there is another rule which is going to give relief to the teams but may increase the tension of some players. BCCI has now issued a new order to curb players withdrawing their names before the start of the new season.
These players will be banned
Every time during the new season of IPL, many players are seen withdrawing their names. Due to which the team is facing some problems. This mostly includes players from England and Australia, who left the tournament before the start of the season and in the middle of the season. In such a situation, BCCI has now decided to adopt a strict stance towards such players.
Now if any player withdraws his name before the start of the season, then BCCI will ban him for the current season and the next two seasons. After which now players will have to think twice before withdrawing their names. A player who registers and bids in the auction and later decides to withdraw will not be included in the auction for the next two years.
Teams will get relief
IPL teams have heaved a sigh of relief with this rule of BCCI. Because when a player suddenly withdraws his name, it is not easy for those teams to find his replacement. But now this will not happen.
