Pat Cummins made the biggest move of IPL 2024, Sanju Samson took over
- Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan by 36 runs
- Hyderabad reached the final by defeating Rajasthan
- Sanju Samson's big statement after Rajasthan's defeat
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday to seal their place in the final of IPL 2024. Disappointed after the defeat, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson spoke about the team's mistakes due to which they could not reach the final. He believes that Pat Cummins took the match away from the Royals by bowling spinners in the middle overs and also took them to the final. Throughout the tournament, SRH relied heavily on their fast bowling set-up. But at Chepauk, Cummins changed the course of the match by bringing the spin duo of Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma to the fore.
SRH spinners turned the match around
The Royals batsmen suffered a defeat in front of the spin duo and lost five wickets. On the other hand, the two veteran spinners of Rajasthan Royals could not take a single wicket in the match. After the match, Samson said that they started bowling to the spinners and that is where they lost the match. He said, “It was a big match. I am really proud of the way we bowled in the first innings. We lacked options against their spin in the middle overs, where we lost the match.
Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl and it is expected that there will be some fog in the second innings. But there was no dew during the match. The spinners got the advantage of this situation. The ball caught and spun which caused trouble to the Rajasthan batsmen. It was actually very difficult to predict when we should expect fog and when not. In the second innings the wicket started behaving differently, the ball started turning a bit, they used that advantage really well.
Sanju told where the batsmen made mistakes
Samson said, “Against spin, when the ball was coming in, we could have tried to reverse-sweep a little more or maybe use the crease a little more. They used the bowlers really well.' After winning the toss in this match, Samson decided to bowl. With the help of Heinrich Klaasen's innings of 50 runs, Sunrisers scored 175 runs. In response, the spin duo restricted Rajasthan to 139 runs. Now the final match will be played on Sunday at Chepauk, where Sunrisers will face Kolkata Knight Riders.
