- Lucknow team defeated Gujarat Titans by 33 runs
- Captain angry with bad batting
- Showed the class of the batsman, praised the bowlers
The 21st match of IPL 2024 was a one-sided affair, in which Lucknow Super Giants defeated Gujarat Titans by 33 runs at their home ground. While chasing the target of 164 runs given by Lucknow, Gujarat batsmen were out for 130 runs. After this shameful defeat, Shubman Gill looked angry due to poor batting. He showed tremendous class of batsmen. He also praised his bowlers.
What did Shubham say after the match?
After the match, Shubham said, 'It was a good wicket to bat on, but our batting performance was poor. We started well but lost wickets in the middle and could not get out of it. Our bowlers performed brilliantly and restricted Lucknow to around 160, but our batsmen disappointed.
David Miller's mistake remembered
Shubham also gave a statement regarding the playing of David Miller. He said, 'Miller is such a player who can change the course of the match in just a few overs. I think this score was very good for us. On his dismissal, Gill said, 'I thought this was the last over of the powerplay and I wanted to take full advantage of it. I missed that ball because I tried to play too square. It was great to see our bowlers bowling. We were trying to stop it around 160-165.
What did KL Rahul say after the victory?
After this spectacular victory, KL Rahul said, 'We will win. I won't do anything more than this. We have a young bowling unit, which helps when batting first. He has realized how the wicket is playing and he is playing really well. On winning all the matches facing 160+ runs, Rahul said, 'This is a good record. Playing in home conditions helps. The ranking of bowlers has increased in the last few years. You must have seen these same people bowling in the last season also. He has adjusted to his role. Hopefully we can continue this further.
