Retention rules for IPL 2025
All teams can retain a maximum of 6 players including right-to-match cards before IPL 2025. If teams retain 6 players before the auction then they will not have RTM cards in the auction. This means that the fewer players a franchise retains, the more right-to-match cards it will have that it can use in the auction.
