Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis was fined Rs 12 lakh after losing the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. According to the statement issued by IPL, he has been fined due to slow over rate. This means that during the match, his team RCB did not complete the entire quota of 20 overs within the stipulated time.

Faf du Plessis is the first foreigner and the 8th captain overall to fall victim to slow over-rate in this IPL season. Earlier, all the Indian captains who captained in IPL 2024 have been fined, which includes Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya.
