- Aakash Chopra gave statement regarding Kohli's strike rate
- Virat is the highest run scorer for RCB in IPL
- If Bengaluru has to win, Kohli will have to score runs.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that critics should focus on Virat Kohli's hitting ability rather than his strike rate. Royal Challengers Bangalore's star batsman Virat Kohli will be seen playing his next match against Gujarat Titans. Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer for RCB in IPL 2024, however, his strike rate in some matches has been the talk of the town, on which Virat Kohli gave a befitting reply to the critics.
Aakash Chopra's statement on Kohli
Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel, I have a different wish. The players who have been included in the World Cup team have not been able to show anything special in their first match. Be it Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal or Sanju Samson. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored some runs. He said, “So I am thinking that Virat Kohli should also score runs.” I hope that Kohli will score runs and if Bengaluru has to win then it is very important for him to score runs. Don't know whether we will be impressed by Maxwell or not. No one will talk about strike rate. He will just focus on his ability to hit.”
Virat's performance in IPL
Virat Kohli has scored 500 runs in 10 matches in the current season at a strike rate of 147.90. He has hit 46 fours and 20 sixes. Aakash Chopra said that apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, no one has performed well in the matches played since the announcement of the team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
