Today the 10th match of IPL (IPL 2023) was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The visiting team captain Aiden Markram had decided to bat first after winning the toss but his decision backfired on the team. Hyderabad could only manage 121 runs in front of the brilliant bowling of Lucknow. Chasing the target, the Lucknow team achieved victory in 16 overs only.
Lucknow team’s openers started well, KL Rahul and Kyle Meyers added 35 runs for the first wicket but after that the team suffered two consecutive setbacks in the form of Meyers and Deepak Hooda. But from here Captain Rahul shared a 55-run partnership with Krunal Pandya. Krunal Pandya scored 34 off 23 balls while KL Rahul scored 35. Adil Rashid got maximum 2 wickets from Hyderabad side.
Earlier, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Hyderabad openers tried to get off to a brisk start but the team got the first blow in the form of Mayank Agarwal at the score of 21 runs. After that Anmolpreet Singh played a good innings and after scoring 31 runs he also returned to the pavilion. Soon after that, Captain Markram also got bowled on the very first ball. England’s explosive batsman Harry Brook also could not show his power and went stumped out on Ravi Bishnoi’s ball.
Rahul Tripathi stood alone at the other end but he scored 35 runs in 41 balls while playing a very slow innings. Washington Sundar, who came to support him, also failed to make big shots, Sundar scored 16 runs in 28 balls. In the end, Abdul Samad scored 21 runs in 10 balls, due to which Sunrisers’ score reached 121 runs, Krunal Pandya got the maximum 3 wickets from Lucknow. He got 3 big wickets for 18 runs in his 4 over spell.
In their previous two matches, SRH failed to impress as they scored only 131 and 121, and let their opponents score 203 and 127 (in 16 overs), resulting in two overwhelming losses. Their poor performance in all aspects of the game has left them with a lot to contemplate. On the other hand, LSG have made a strong comeback after their defeat against CSK. Despite not including Quinton de Kock and the absence of Mark Wood due to illness, their resources are plentiful. This concludes our update for now.
