- Big change seen in IPL schedule
- Schedule of two matches changed
IPL 2024 is going on and this tournament will be played in India even during the Lok Sabha elections. But on Tuesday, April 2, a big change was seen in the IPL schedule. Now the updated schedule of IPL has come out. Accordingly, the schedule of two matches has been changed. This exchange took place in the matches on 16 and 17 April. The match which was to be played on 16th will now be played on 17th while the match on 17th will be played on 16th.
The schedule of these two matches was changed
Let us tell you that earlier the match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals was to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 17th April. Now this match has been kept on 16th. The match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans to be played in Ahmedabad on 16th April will now be played at the same venue on 17th. Only the dates have changed.
Why did the schedule change?
IPL shared the information about this schedule change by issuing a media advisory on Twitter. The reason for this change between tournaments is the festival of Ram Navami. This match took place on 17th April in Kolkata and Ram Navami is also on the same day. This festival has a different significance in the city and security may be reduced on this day.
This match was rescheduled a day earlier. On Monday, news came that officials of IPL franchise, BCCI and Bengal Cricket Association are in touch with Kolkata Police. Apart from these two matches, there has been no change in the schedule of any other match. All remaining matches will be played as per their scheduled schedule.
