The Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken major action against Kolkata Knight Riders star player Harshit Rana. Fast bowler Harshit Rana has been banned for one match. Harshit has been accused of violating the IPL code of conduct during the match against Delhi Capitals. For this crime he has to face double punishment. Harshit Rana has been fined 100% of his match fee besides being suspended for one match. Harshit will now not be able to play in the match against Mumbai Indians on 3 May. This match will be played at Wankhede Stadium.
Trying to tease Abhishek Porel
However, the reason for action against Harshit Rana has not been clearly stated. It is believed that the action taken against Delhi Capitals batsman Abhishek Porel was due to his celebration. After bowling Abhishek Porel, Harshit gave a flying kiss pose. However, this was not the first time that Rana had committed such a crime.
Fine was imposed earlier also
Even before this he has faced criticism due to his actions. Harshit Rana did a similar act after dismissing Sunrisers Hyderabad player Mayank Agarwal in the IPL match. Due to which he was fined 60 percent of the match fee.
BCCI made strict rules
Rana has now been handed a match ban and fined 100 per cent of his fee for a Level 1 breach under Article 2.5. He has been banned for one match for repeated offences. BCCI has made strict rules regarding the conduct of players. If a player commits repeated offences, he may be banned. A few days ago, BCCI had taken action against players like Virat Kohli for violating the IPL code of conduct. Harshit has taken 11 wickets in 8 matches of IPL so far.
