This incident happened in the fourth over of Kolkata Knight Riders' innings, when Avesh Khan came to bowl the second over of his spell. Only 1 run came on the first 2 balls of Avesh's over. While trying to play a fast shot on the third ball, Phil Salt was caught by Avesh Khan. Avesh Khan surprised his teammates present in the field by taking a catch with his left hand. Earlier in the match against Punjab Kings, Avesh Khan and Sanju Samson had come together to take a catch, due to which the catch was missed. Now after taking the catch of Salt, Avesh Khan also jokingly pointed towards Samson.

Phil Salt gets life support

Phil Salt was almost out on the second ball of the first over of the innings. Trent Boult came to bowl and on the second ball of the over, the ball hit Salt's bat and went to Riyan Parag. Parag's reverse cup catching style proved costly for him as a very easy catch slipped out of his hands. Phil Salt failed to play a big innings even after getting life support.
